SSL Courier IMAP certificate on Debian
Easy way to create a new certificate instead of the autogenerated one which comes with “apt-get install courier-imap-ssl”: check your /etc/courier/imapd.cnf move the file /etc/courier/imapd.pem to another name or location dpkg-reconfigure courier-imap-ssl restart imapd and check if everything was ok

This weekend I had to figure out how the hack will I make the Mac OS X clients authenticate from Solaris 10 and Mac OS X server. Netinfo is better, it’s easy to make it work on Mac OS X, but hard to compile on Solaris. I have to configure NIS on the Sun and test if it works.

After replying the umpteen e-mail about Hungarian language specific (latin2) õ and û character problem I have made a FAQ page. I describe how to solve the problem when Word and NeoOffice does not see the õ and û characters in a document comes from Windows. It’s basically a problem specific documentation for FontBook, Apple’s most important but not-so-well-known application. (Update: Will have to find the document to correct the links)

I’m sitting in a small but nice place called Café Créme just on the corner, near to our flat. The sandwich was fine (with chorizo), Emese had a melange (she said it was much more like melange compared to the others she had) and we are both using our own WiFi network from home, working and surfing… It’s a beautiful day, good start.

I’m happy with my new iMac G5, it’s fast, beautiful… but. I cannot install (without hacking) YDL on it, because YDL 4.0 installer does not recognise its combo drive. Is this serious? 🙁 I will check it again soon but I have no time for hacking a new install set… I will have to find another ppc distro. (Update: I have successfully installed YDL 4.0.1)
